Now that you’ve chosen to hire SW Grab Hire, we’ve compiled a list of our FAQ’s to answer the questions most frequently asked of us. This should ensure that the services we provide are the right fit for your company or individual needs and should provide you with some security and reassurance that our services are safe, reliable and secure.
1. What services do you offer?
At SW Grab Hire we offer waste removal, site clearance, aggregate delivery, and muck away services. This guarantees our efficiency for construction, demolition, landscaping and other similar projects where large quantities of waste materials need to be brought to, or removed safely from, site and legally sourced or disposed of.
During your construction or excavation activities, you may accumulate large amounts of waste materials, such as soil, clay, stone, brick, concrete or other inert materials and general debris. Typically, we collect, transport and dispose of these materials for you in a safe and responsible manner, according to environmental regulations and local recycling requirements to promote a clean and safe working environment.
When it comes to building or regeneration works, we are also top choice for delivery of high quality aggregates, available in a wide range of sizes and grades to suit differing construction applications. Our experienced team are happy to provide advice about local availability and cost consideration, dependent on your intended use and engineering requirements.
2. Do you have the necessary permits and licenses?
We currently hold all the required permits and licenses to operate legally in the UK, especially when dealing with waste removal or disposal. We also undertake the regular training and refresher courses necessary to ensure our operatives offer the highest quality professional service.
3. What types of waste do you accept?
At SW Grab Hire we mainly deal with soil, hardcore (bricks and concrete) and green/wood waste. If your project involves disposal of general waste we are able to work in partnership with other companies to dispose of this appropriately.
4. How much can the grab truck carry?
Our unique, compact, 18-ton, 4-wheeler lorry, offers an 8-ton load capacity and superior manoeuvrability, which allows us to reach locations that larger 32-ton 8-wheelers simply can't access. With this, we can offer you half the load of a bigger truck, more often, enabling you to gain more control of your costs and site space.
5. Which areas do you serve?
We are Swindon-based, however each job is quoted based on location and access. SW Grab Hire operatives can travel anywhere but this will be reflected in the quotation to account for any additional mileage accrued. Our friendly team will always advise you if we feel it may be cheaper to source a company closer to the job site.
6. What are your pricing and payment terms?
All SW Grab Hire invoices are issued with 7-day payment terms. However, we are always willing to work with clients to discuss alternative payment requirements. This offers you increased flexibility when it comes to booking our services.
7. Are you insured?
We currently hold £5 Million Public Liability Insurance. This protects both individuals and businesses from financial loss arising from third-party claims for property damage, bodily injury and product liability. It provides cover for legal costs and compensation payments arising from such claims.
8. What is your availability?
Generally, operatives at SW Grab Hire work Monday-Friday, however if there is a specific need that requires weekend cover this can be arranged with appropriate notice.
9. What is your approach to environmental sustainability?
At SW Grab Hire we understand that environmental concerns may be important to you. Being a registered waste carrier we dispose of material at registered transfer/processing centres, and always repurpose where possible. With regards to our aggregate deliveries, we offer recycled products as well as virgin aggregates that are sourced directly from natural resources. At SW Grab Hire we always try to source materials as close to the delivery site as possible which not only reduces transportation costs for you, as the client, but also provides greater reassurance of our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and wider sustainable practice.
As always, SW Grab Hire can help with all your waste disposal needs. Our friendly team is always happy to advise on the best solution for your project.
